Week 44Cloudflare warns of security flaw lasting years26 October 2026

This week brings new security warnings, practical AI tools for businesses, and important changes from major providers. Particularly relevant: a new Chinese AI model available for free, and a new tool for securely sharing passwords with AI agents.

1. Cloudflare warns of security flaw lasting years

Cloudflare warns that a security flaw similar to the recently disclosed PHP2Shell could keep appearing for years. AI-powered code analysis finds more vulnerabilities but also creates new attack paths.

What it means for your business: Check regularly whether your website or online shop receives security updates, and ask your IT provider about a maintenance plan for the coming years.

2. Kimi K3.1 Pro: Powerful Chinese AI model released as open weight

Chinese company Moonshot AI releases Kimi K3.1 Pro. The model is available as open weight, meaning it can be downloaded and run on your own servers. Independent tests show performance matching the best US models.

What it means for your business: If you want to use AI tools but prefer not to send your data to the US or large corporations, check whether Kimi K3.1 Pro suits your needs.

3. Google uses Gmail and photos for advertising

Google changes its privacy policy and now allows itself to serve personalised advertising based on emails and photos. The new rule does not apply in Europe for now.

What it means for your business: If you use Google services for your business, check whether you can disable personalised advertising in the settings, and inform your customers about alternatives.

4. Anthropic recommends single AI agent instead of many small ones

Anthropic advises businesses to replace multiple specialised AI agents with a single main agent that loads additional information as needed. One customer example shows processing became roughly twice as fast.

What it means for your business: If you use multiple AI tools for different tasks, check whether a single system with good instructions would be more efficient and cheaper.

5. 1Password enables secure password handover to AI agents

1Password introduces a feature that lets AI agents log into accounts without seeing the password itself. The credentials remain encrypted and are only temporarily released.

What it means for your business: If you want to use AI agents for accounting, customer service or marketing, this tool lets you grant access without revealing passwords.
